    Are you asking me?

Im cycling as its something physical i can do whilst im injured and so i dont jump of a high bridge.

My current aim is to build up my enduance so i can go further at a decent speeds and maintain it.

On a serious note re shaving, it depends methinks most people just it for the look and it marks as a more serious cyclist. My belief (no doubt to be contested) about it making for smoother airflow is rubbish for most of us. Though the view that it helps road rash heal better as the hairs don't block the scab from healing has some merit. Grazed my leg last week and the scab is a bit of a mess due to my hairy legs.

Try audax then, friendly rides, good food stops usually well organised, don't be put off by the distances in the calendar they are in KM not miles

Maybe i should just gell the hair down for better air flow then?

I was once told by a very serious cyclist that hairless from the waist down is the way to go!
