    Last year it was fast.
Fastest bit of the race for me, that and the descent off catbells.
The rest was slow and painful
    Sounds fun!! Cheers!

If one does hit the right direct line, is it steep grass or steep rocky stuff?
    Don't panic!

This is the route the masses followed. No really nasty crags, just steep grass with some rocks secreted in it. Just don't go north from the summit.

I went this way approximately. Avoids all the rocks and is totally runnable.

I've measured it to around 350m further - that would have to be extremely good running to be worthwhile.

Maybe Swoops trying to make it in to an AL?

It's faster if you are a crap descender like me.
I agree it is much quicker to go straight down otherwise.

Hmmm, got a bit demoralised myself when reccying the best way off Dale Head. They all seem really horrid!

Anyway, in a last bid attempt deciding whether to do the race or not, can you tell me what the cut off is at the top of Robinson. Can't find it mentioned on the website.

I'm not sure there is one, but if you are worried about that I wouldn't bother

I think if you can do it in 1:20 or under you will be OK! Other have gone through slightly slower in the past.
