If you think about it its quite a clever way of raising more revenue as runners pull out who have paid somebody else takes their place and pays again !
The earlier the entries become available the more chance of people pulling out.

Do you know.....that thought had gone through my mind too, together with the thought that if 400 was the real maximum number for the race, limiting the list to 400, and encouraging people to formally withdraw if they weren't going to run, probably wouldn't be good for revenue!

But I'm sure that isn't how it works, and it's all for a good cause anyway.

Ahem.......yes, I've made a pledge to run the Grisedale Horseshoe which clashes with the Ben. Ben one year, Grisedale the next. I've done about 6 Bens so far and I'm not chasing the Connachie Plaque (and Grisedale is a better and tougher race, dare I say so) so I'm afraid I'll not be in Fort William this year.

Anyway Tomsk, was it not you who put my name on the original Ben list, so 'twas not me who made a false pretense? Ignore Also Ran ~ he's just trying to stir things up !
