They start just behind the school on a dirt track and join the main climb about 800m from the start/finish line of the Senior Race.
U12 go to the gate at the top of the steep grass embankment so about 1.75 mile , and U14 & U16 go to the Pike so around 2.25 mile for them.

    Distances are a guess.

There's plenty of Junior races before then though. Check out Pendle on 5th April

    Hi Pinno,
    yep, I should be there
never done it before, so this is my big chance!
the flyer says 800ft, whereas the calendar says 700 - maybe there's been a recent geological uplift!
you should be able to spot me easily enough in my horrific "radioactive green" Fell Ponies vest

I'm torn this weekend. I'm up at AW which I did first time last year and it's my favourite race I've done so far. Plus WPette is their in the juniors.
But Rivington is a close second.
It's like the fell race equivalent of Alp D'Huez in the Tour, with the supporters lining the climb.
A classic race. Good luck to everyone. Hopefully we won't have a clash next year and I'll be back.

I feeling is great with all the people around cheering you on. Have done it 3 times and enjoyed everyone.

A word of warning though. DON'T RUN IN FELL SHOES!
Slick trails or grippy roads will do the trick nicely
