A brilliant race for a brilliant day. Was diisappointed with my time this year, seemed to fall apart after Dalehead, but it was nothing that the free food and free beer couldn't put right!

Thanks to everyone who helped to make it happen.

Given she got clattered by Daz I'm surprised she wasn't complaining. Maybe Daz worked his charm on her It was a good job the race hadn't started earlier, the summit of Catbells was heaving with about 100 people until maybe twenty minutes before the leaders started coming through.
The walker indeed got a clattering. I literally dropped off the top and was in freefall for about 20ft and landed on her. I felt really bad and said so sorry. I was worred sick on the run in as I thought id hurt her.
If she had given you her name id have sent her a reward and some flowers.
That watch is very sentimental and its been with me a long time.
    Appreciate that Bob.
Your right , Catbells was very crowded but when you have Jack Holt on your tail your just thinking Go Go Go , I said to Geoff B a thanks for the support then bang next thing i knew id landed in her lap.

I didnt have time to work any charm
Anyway Jack blitzed past me despite encouragement from Stagger half way down

what a fantastic day! - brilliantly organised and sound people all round and it was a joy to run. Ta v much to marshalls and organisers.

Got a suntan into the bargain and premium cakes too. Reckon I chose well for my first race!

managed to get round a lot quicker than I'd hoped

have truly got the bug now ....

    Ade :-)

Thankyou for the get well wishes and concerns re the leg, I pulled my calf - all to do with the sciatic nerve problems of past months, coming down the saddle although was pleased to find the BG trod off there bang on and avoid the route of the masses....you taught me well Chris!! Definately thought my ascent up Robinson was for me anyway a quicker option than the direct route everyone took, but a bit odd being up there on you're own with not a soul in sight for a while wondering if you'd gotten it completley wrong.

Decided to carry on regardless of the bad leg and enjoy the weather and scenery no matter what, had a great day out and. Good to see old faces and put names to some new.

Thanks to Wynn and all the marshalls especially a certain donkey shouting abuse on catbells and to Alex for taking the drink for me, certainly not a day to try and get round unhydrated....if it's this bad in april I'll be fit for nothing when the sun shines for real

Sorry to hear you were suffering.

Which way did you go up Robinson? I'd been pondering going further up Little Dale than the masses, and made up my mind after a chat with GeoffB. Well it seemed to pay off as I rejoined the crowds about 20 places ahead of where I'd left them. The other bonuses of the route I took were no crags, and peace and quiet! I think I saw someone in a Carnethy vest following me, but nobody else.

The route is the reverse of the line I took on my BG last year, as suggested by Steve, Wynn and Yiannis after last year's AW. Here's a plot of it:
