Ooh a pb how lovely, the perfect end to the perfect weekend. I just thought I felt good because of the weather and seeing lots of friends (lots of new Holmies, Mud, Huw & Moo and 3 scots down too) but no I was actually running a couple of minutes faster than last year. Huzzah!

    Thanks again one and all.

Which way did you go up Robinson? I'd been pondering going further up Little Dale than the masses, and made up my mind after a chat with GeoffB. Well it seemed to pay off as I rejoined the crowds about 20 places ahead of where I'd left them. The other bonuses of the route I took were no crags, and peace and quiet! I think I saw someone in a Carnethy vest following me, but nobody else.

The route is the reverse of the line I took on my BG last year, as suggested by Steve, Wynn and Yiannis after last year's AW. Here's a plot of it:
Think that's the one Andy yes. Carry on along the bottom after everyone has peeled off right and yes avoids the crags and is more like going up stairs and suits my type of climbing!! Oh and the peace and quiet was lovely just need to make sure to keep pushing on and not stop to admire the serenity!

Yes Swoop and I took that line in 2007 after Chris K showed us, was just hoping I could remember it 2 years on!

Has anyone ever taken the route up Robinson where as soon as you go through the gate, go immediately right up grassy slope whereas the main field of runners carry on to the crags.
We walked up that way and it was a killer of a climb but once your on the top its pretty good going.

It is not that bad I have done it a couple of times in training...it is runnable up the hill, and there is a good diagonal trod from halfway up the climb that gets to the ridge much further along. Probably no quicker though, because you end up descending a bit on the ridge. It goes down as well as up

Yup..loads of photo's taken, amazingly most of them quite good too, not sure how best to send/upload them tho'.

Well done to all runners and the organisers for another brilliant race, it was frustrating only watching the after having ran it a few times previous but the 'Bother' family really enjoyed the day out as spectators
