I recorded the marathon on BBC 1 and was really disappointed to see the program finish just before Andi crossed the line. You would have thought they would give the fastest brit better coverage. All the same, brilliant run Andi and well done.

Easier to get Andi in a vest - or a Fell Ponies relay - I can do about 300m at that pace... so need ** others to join in!

The reason they insist on an 'A' standard 6 minutes faster than the official IAAF standard is because (as Andi himself pointed out in a recent thread) that they want any travelling athletes to be in with a reasonable medal chance.....anything else (other than taking a very young talented athlete) would be seen in UKA eyes as a "waste" of resources.......as amusing as your point is Dom, the UKA sprint relay team will always be in with a realistic medal chance IF they can hold onto the baton......hence UKA can justify (in their eyes) taking 7/8 or more athletes (including those in the individual 100 and / or 200m sprints you understand)
The "very young talented" didn't seem to help Richard Yates, the young Trafford hurdler.
    UKA needs dissolving.
