Ive been wondering this for a while.
I know the distance is relatively similar but the climb isnt....but even so.....how much would people say doing the fellsman compares to the BG?
Have a look at this Al

Having read the reports, puts my little extended jog on the Malham Meander into perspective. But no, I'm far too old and unfit to even thinking about competing in it. Well done to all who took part.
That was another character-building experience.
KingSnail, it was great to share the navigation with you and reach such perfect agreement on the route. Our group of six couldn't have been better matched. It was a pleasure.
Donkarlo, it was good to finally put a face to the name at the start. Well done with your time. That's fast. Well done also to Bobert and duracell. Impressive indeed.
Swimmingdunce, you must take the dry route next year. That one really is runnable.
My blog is linked below. All pictures I took are linked there.
Great report that Nick, brings back all the memories, good and bad, from the race. Looking at your pics, i recognise Mandy Calvert as one of our group of five that teamed up at Cray, along with me, Mrs. Crumblydown and Lewis and Jane Grundy.
Lewis, Jane and Mandy did a fantastic job of navigating and Mrs C paced me all the way round, i owe my finishing time to them and would like to say a public THANK YOU to all four of them. We named ourselves 'The Beautiful Five' we only got away with it cos it was dark and nobody could see my hideous face
Nice to meet Donkarlo at the start, good luck with your BG mate![]()

Hi all
What a fantastic race that was! Definitely worth the pain but could do without the shin splints.
Thanks to everyone who chatted to me along the way - couldn't have done it without you all. You know who you are.
Results are up - 95th I'm chuffed to bits.
Well done Saz - what a result!
Stef
Good report Nick. I also liked the fittness test report. hard wasn't it. I got to 8.20 on the max test with 192.
