probably - there are one or two very steep rough (tussocky) slopes... even if the ground is firm it will be skiddy on top

I underestimated the distance last year and started 5 mins after everyone else.
At least I wasn't worrying about people standing on my head up Elle Bank!

The Waltzing Weasel on the road towards Birch Vale/ New Mills was nice last time I went in there.
The Sportsmans Inn on Kinder Road (about 400 yds from finish - Grid SK044 868) is by far and away the best pub in Hayfield. That was one tough fell race
That last climb up Mount Famine was a calf buster, once at the top and over the stile my legs didn't want to run, I had no feeling left in them
