Trying to plod up hills every day slightly faster than the day before
I was in the middle of the OMM last year, knew what was going on, and wasn't worried. It's a bit different when you're not there and relying on media reports, and people you know are running. Obviously I wasn't concerned for Gobshite. Cockroaches and nuclear war come to mind.
Glad all are accounted for, and it's all anecdotes and not obituaries!
ignore the media. the conditions sound normal for this race...based on my prior experience going back to '88

BIG RESPECT to all that finished, and thanks to all the helpers and organisers for putting it on
Another national press report on fell runners being caught up on the mountains and having to be ' found or rescued ' . Whatever the truth of the full story the FRA and race organisers need to get together soon to discuss this. This follows the Karrimor incident last year. It may be alright for fell running fanatics to think they can come on this forum and say ' what was the fuss about ' but they have to realise that already stretched rescue services are involved here and the implications of having more of these races going wrong may have a long term consequence for fell running in general.
