Thread: Midsummer Madness

    Re: Midsummer Madness

Not sure where we would stand on a navigational course for the juniors they are even more inclined than us seniors to get their heads down and charge paying little or no attention to any flags or route guidance. We will look at all options and ensure that any decisions are well publicised.
As for your comments causing any hassle you will have to try harder to cause upset - given your name you must be losing your touch

I think you're right, CCR. That's why I suggested a new, softer name in posting number 70.
On the other hand, get him on the subject of Fell Ponies and he reverts to being a beast.

    "Beast" was my cycling nickname

    Re: Midsummer Madness

Sorry for the delay, but I added checkpoint positions to the Timothy Taylors Tom Tittiman results, in case anyone wants to see them.

By the way, we've decided to have a separate juniors results table for the 3-day series next year. It would have been a bit lonely on the results list on his own for young (but speedy ) Joseph Crossfield this year - but hopefully there might be a few more juniors doing all 3 races next year.

Also plan to have some kind of ceilidh or band on the Saturday night next year - like the ceilidh we had 4 years ago, that was just great fun! Should make it more of a complete weekend.

    Midsummer Madness

Any forumites doing the midsummer madness races?

It's a shame the weekend clashes with the championship race at Tebay , but I know there are people who (like me!) prefer smaller low-key races to the big championship fields.

I should warn you if you are doing it... I know I've commented that the Reservoir Bogs route is going to be "interesting" this year, but that view has been seconded.
Someone who knows what the race is about road-tested this year's route the other day. (He's the only person apart from the marshals and me who knows where its going to go, until the day).
I'm sure he won't mind me quoting him, since I know he reads the forum: "you display sociopathic tendencies as far as this race is concerned".

Remember, the important thing is to maintain your sense of humour. Especially for checkpoints 2 and 3.

C'mon fellow forumites - you really should come along and do one or more of these races - you owe it to yourselves!! Friday is a Cat A quick blast up to Sheepstones with a good fast descent. Saturday should be good fun - take your chances or follow a cvfr or tod vest () and there's no James Logue this year. Sun is a fast flatter race with a little bit of heather thrown in. All three races have a pub nearby (esp Sat and Sun that start from the pub) and there's good beer and lots of prizes.
    Cheers, CH.
