Here we go, the big question - does God exist?

A lot of Richard Dawkin's work is excellent but I don't think the God Delusion is his strongest. He comes across in it as being too zealous rather than relying on hard science and sound philosophical argument.

Exactly my thoughts, he was as extreme as a religious extremist would be but to the other side of the spectrum. Either way (and this is speaking as an atheist) I found the book rather tedious.

The Universe IS everything, so there can't be anything on the other side of it.

Is there an end to the universe? Of course because the universe is finite. If it wasn't it would be undefinable, and we couldn't then call it the universe.

good stuff CL but surely you are just playing with words, If something is Finite it has to have an end or at least boundaries, if it has these there must be "something" on the other side. The word universe is just a word not a true definition as we don't know our universe is everything

I'd like to add I don't know the answer and I'm not on either side of the fence but just love to discuss this one.

I do not believe that there is a God.

I believe that even if there was one, he would not expect us to worship on a regular basis - he'd surely just expect us to get on with life as best we can.

I do not need conclusive proof either way - I look at the evidence and form my own opinion.

For them that believe, good luck to them - but I would suggest that if they could ever get free access to the Vatican they may find facts that undermine the whole Christian faith - and therefore perhaps other faiths as well.

I firmly believe that Religion is a method of population control by small groups with vested interests.

Does infinity have a middle? As infinity can be both positive and negative, is the middle zero?

I think the mathematicians will argue not (Swoop?) but I suspect the scientists will have a differing view.

I think infinity is more like a Mobius loop so the middle is every where as there is no end?
