Friday. Edale to Great Hucklow. Lovely venturing into deepest derbyshire
19 mile this morning to work.
It was warm, sweated big time.
65 miles out on the Fylde today. Went hard going out to the cafe at Forton as I set of 30 mins behind the club ride. Got there 5 mins before them as we took slightly different routes. 14 of us bimbled back through the lanes to Longridge and Whalley after several litres of tea. Very warm today, great sat on the terrace outside the cafe.
Sounds brilliant Ady...
I am looking forward to tonights chaingang with apprehension...
It is warm, the ride is furiously fast... I learnt last weekend from some guys that our chaingaing has the reputation to be bl**dy hard. That explains now why so far the longest I have managed to hold on to it is 7 minutes! Aiming for 10 minutes tonight, but secretly hoping to hang on till Usk, after which I will ride back on the Welsh National race route while they take the regular route...
True... but the pace is men's elite race pace... which is a bit fast for me, a vet 4th cat lady...
I am jealous of you, that you can go out for all those lovely rides during the day. Don't you have to work? I work 6-7 days a week, starting at 2pm on weekends, but it still means I rarely can ride for longer than 3 hours and there is never time for a cake stop![]()
I do 2 weeks where I am more or less in work all the time and then 1 week off. Makes for inconsistent training, especially the bike as you can easily throw a quick run in between shifts, unlike a long ride. Hope these heavy showers stop, I am back on the bike for a ride tonight in deepest darkest Yorkshire!
