    Hi Starsk'

Was that you that I had a sprint finish with then? My time (by my watch was 53:31). I came 43rd. Darth came past me at the start of the climb to WH. Ron F was already past me in the woods. Not one of my better efforts. I don't do hot

Endorse everyone's comments about the course and organisation.

Ah I suspect it may well have been Storyteller, I came in at 35:25 (according to my watch) in 42nd I think. I'm considering it a relative success for me as I'm still pretty new to this fell running malarkey and learning how to pace myself on hills, this time I actually managed to get up the hills without completely writing off my legs, as opposed to Blackamoor last week which was distastrous!

Afraid I don't know Darth or Ron F but I'm sure I'll start to recognise the faces more and more with each race... anyone doing Hathersage on Monday, is it a good one?

When not dressing as an "Allsort" Darth can be found in various states of undress usually in some strange lycra thing

Rocket Ron Fawcett is a true legend and a real gent. Argueably one of the best climbers in the world in the 70's and 80's.

Yes (assuming I have anything left after Peakers Stroll on Sunday) and yes.

Don't go too slow at the start unless you like having a long rest whilst queuing for gates/stiles.

Thanks IDP, I'll be sure to look out for a semi naked lycra wearing chap and a gent who could show me a thing or 10 about how to climb at the next race!

Thanks SteveS, I'll be sure to try and make a quick start, well a quick start for me anyway!

FB - I'm sure someone with more local knowledge than me will be able to describe the route far more accurately but basically, from the sports ground we went straight over a couple of fields out of town towards the railway bridge (as opposed to running through an estate in town which I think is what the route used to do?) then we followed the road round to the left and this is where my memory fails me slightly as I can't remember exactly where we joined the path but we eventually did hook up with one which took us up towards Wooler Knoll. From there we dropped down through the forest to Ladybower before climbing straight back up to the trig point at the top of Win Hill. After that it was a cracking descent straight back down via Twitchill Farm, back under the railway and home. Having never done the previous course I can't really compare myself but I certainly enjoyed this route.
