Saturday race goes up track north from Kettlewell to Cam Head, across to cattle grid on the Park Rash road (CP. also the finish of Friday's race) then up towards Great Whernside. Next CP is in the headwaters of the River Nidd (somewhere around GR.015755) then it's back up to summit of G Whernside, down to somewhere near Hag Dyke, traverse round above Providence Pot and pick up a path/track back to Kettlewell.

.... or that's where it went in 2004 anyway....

I did it last year and I still haven't got a clue where it goes! Bit wet and claggy last year, but good runnable start, followed by lots of tussocks then good open moor (and maybe some navigation if you're not quick enough to follow the guy in front )

i advise you take and run on a bearing from (cp4) to whernside(cp5),bit rough but when i did it i caught the leaders up who went wrong, then watch out for caseker crag(cp7) as it is trickey to find.
i have the honour of being the sweeper so will help if poss.

Some great tips here. Having plotted the route, the tricky bits definitely look like CPs 4 -5 and 7 -8. Getting to 4 presents a few options too. Hope this storm stops!

Yep those are the two gotchas. First one is still not easy when there is no clag without a good bearing and between 7-8 don't keep too low on the slope as you will come to a deep gully you have to do a 'down and up' in. If you stay higher up you will avoid having to do this extra little climb.

I will be there as well.

This looks great, if I'd not already committed to Osmotherley Phoenix...
Deffo next year, sounds a great combo of races.
