These times are on the CFRA website. But I don't know how they figure in the context of tight!
In context I usually manage about 6 hours with about 15 minutes in hand at Pillar and Gable - timed out once just before Pillar last time it was a championship and a very hot day, but the crux for me seems to be from Pillar to Gable - it seems so easy for time to evaporate along this leg leading to a tense climb of Gable with one eye on the watch. To give you a comparison I ran Duddon in 4.40, Jura 5.15 this year and I personally find Ennerdale early time outs harder, the later ones much less difficult. For me in Wasdale it means I have to push on hard (by my standards) for the first four hours or so, not a lot of room for route error or for pacing myself if its hot which is my bigger concern, I just have to go for it and hope not to blow up. So I'm hoping for a 'poor' day weather wise. Once you are through Gable thats it of course but its still a long way back to the finish. Have a good one and hopefully see you somewhere on the way round.

I've emailed the organiser re the cut off times and they have been increased slightly to:

    Whin Rigg 12.00
    Seatallan 13.25
    Pillar 14.25
    Great Gable 15.30

I think they are having problems with their website that's why the cut off tims haven't been updated.

Thanks for finding this out Mrs S. If all goes according to my master plan I should have 25 minutes in hand at Great Gable, but worryingly only 2 minutes at Whin Rigg

I've had to pull out of this unfortunately so I have a number if anyone would like it ....
On the cut-offs ... I found them reasonably comfortable last year ... It was from Gt Gable to home that was the difficult bit especially as I cut the corner near Esk Hause and had to go all the way back to the checkpoint.

Its nice to see them extended a bit and thanks to the organiser for his consideration. I always felt that it was a little out of kilter to have shortened routes for bad weather but no changes to take account of particularly good (ie hot) weather. I appreciate that cut offs, especially in bad weather are for marshalls and safety benefits but personally I would be pretty confident of completing Wasdale in poor weather, very doubtful about doing it within the cutoffs on a hot day. The extra 15 minutes at Gable will be a big help if its warm. I can take extra kit and navigate carefully on a long race if the weathers is bad, if the weather is hot there's not much I can do apart from slowing down and pacing myself.

I'm guessing there will be plenty of water about after the last few days, and the forecasts sound like it will either rain or it won't until later!
