You should read this book by Robert R. Boeder

    Hardrock Fever

His other book "Beyond the Marathon" about the Grand Slam of Trail Ultrarunning is also worth obtaining.

Mental Martyn, we knew him as. Great guy, but have a feeling he was out the Joss Naylor mold regards 'pain' .

Sounds like Mark is running well at the moment. I really hope he manages a good race at Hard Rock.

Has anyone been able to get any sense out of the live race tracker:

    http://www.hardrock100.com/index.asp

This keeps coming up with "Microsoft JET Database Engine" errors (which is typical, but not exactly useful).

Apparently the race starts at 1300 UK time.

Maybe not until the race is underway (in 8 minutes time...)

MH says: "Race starts at 06.00 Friday US Mountain time. That's 13.00 Friday for anyone in the UK. There is a Hardrock live runners site that intends to post aid station times - keep in mind this is a loooooooong run so there will be long gaps and also that, if I am running smart, I will not make any kind of push until after Ouray."

    Re: Hardrock 100

Mark now 8th and has passed the Ouray aid station at 56 miles in 14.25 (the race started at 6.00 am Friday).

XRunner is right, Finkel now third and has passed Telluride aid station after 72 miles in 23.31.

Mark's target was to do sub 30 hours.

Let's hope he can hold it together.
