My favourite all time run is that way Al. A friend was doing the langdale marathon so they were out for i think 5 hours. I headed from The dungeon ghyll pub. Straight up the path at the back to loft crag and then because of the clag back down to a waterfall crossed over and got harrison stickle in as well. Its about 7 miles with 3000ft and can be done in 1:30ish with a few camera stops. Definately recommend it

Same thing on my mind this morning Alphin! Start from Holme village, up the road onto the top then across Tooleyshaw, Westend, dropping into Crowden, across valley and up Torside before making my way to Bleaklow Head. 2hrs! Then, of course, back the way I came...

3h 53m in all, some 4000ft ascent probably and bloomin' pooped now. C**p weather out this morning as well, wore a windproof and base layer (well, it IS July) but got drenched in showers and cold.

Meanwhile I have to report the following

8 miles or so from near Bradfield to Duck Central aka Derwent Fairholmes. Felt good and the horrible little steep tarmac bit seemed easier.

    Re: Today's Training

Early morning 15 min continuous run (7.5-8min/mi). Knee felt fine during. Can't believe how bad my lungs were though. Was stuggling towards the end. I guess 7 months off will do that though won't it?

Was meant to start on these runs last week, but just ridiculously busy. Should get a couple more in before hols.
