Good pace at the Gun Run Daz.
So you fancy Bullock Smithy?
I'm doing it with another Macc Harrier... he did it last and said it nearly finished him off, but can't wait to do it again. Need to recce it myself. Supposedly pretty staightfotward to navigate as far as Buxton / Earl Sterndale, but gets a bit tricky from there to Wildboarclough... we'll see.
hi lantern
I HIGHLY doubt I'll be doing Bullock Smithy this year, but maybe next...
I'm basically just wanting to do a long training run this weekend, in advance of Dovedale Dipper (26M) in a fortnight
I assume you'll be at Macc Forest the week after next?
and what about Shining Tor next Wednesday?
FELL PONY RELAY CALLED OFF!!!!!!!!!!! ): WEATHER IS DODGY, RANKS WERE A BIT THIN,
SO A FEW OF US ARE GOING TO MEET UP SATURDAY MORNING AND DO A LOW LEVEL..ISH RUN,,,, At least we can have a few pints tonight,,
Shame!
It'll have to be re-organised again sometime and hopefully we can all promote it more so we can get the numbers up.
I only found out about it about a week ago and by then i was already booked up so theres a high chance alot of people who would have liked to have done it, might not have known it was happening - if that makes sence.![]()
And its Snowdon and Ingleborough
Oh good luck. Which way do you go Ill Bell first?. If so its the greatest running from high raise or high seat or whatever the big one is
Well it starts somewhere near the church, runs up the road onto a rocky path for a few hundred meters and then turns right up a grassy slope through the bracken that drags on abit, getting quite steep and it takes alot out of you really.
Then once you've reached the top of that climb you head straight along the trod one a gradually raising climb.
You skirt round to the left of Yoke, summit Ill bell (CP1), skirt round to the left of Frostwick and then start the climb to High Street.(CP2)
Then the ace grassy downhill section to the rocky path which takes you down the the Nan Bield pass.
You cross the pass and then start scrambling over the rocks for a while, then take the path on your right which missing out the summit of whatever it is at the top. You make your way up to the grassy ridge like tops, up the gradual climb to Kentmere Pike(CP3), then down the fast grassy decent to the bg style, over it and then along the horrible rocky path to a farm....then ive no idea where to go to get to the finish so that could be interesting haha
