A great race again today, but some of the walkers 'clowns' walking the route could of had a bit more sense after passing Clogwyn and going through the bridge one woman walked straight out in front of Ian holmes forcing hm to stop momentarily. .
Fractured right shoulder blade and broken left elbow - first broken bones for 50 years. was all set for a massive downhill run and I'd got past at least 20 bby the time I reached the Pyg track where I lost my footing and shoulder charged a big rock. Done Snowdon 5 times but Ill not bother with this race again - my style of dscending I suppose which needs 100% concentration on the terrain- there were far too many ramblers and amblers on the mountain for me. Thanks to fireman Tom of the Mountain rescue who brought me down on th train - star man

Did my first Snowdon yesterday. Quads are complaining today!
Does anyone know where I can get archive Snowdon Race results from? The website only goes back to 2002. Cheers.

    Re: Snowdon 2009

My first Snowdon Intl and it was FABULOUS! Went over for the day with Alphin, Fleeter and Fleeter's dad. All of the race is a blur in my mind today (must have been good!?) but the aching quads are a reminder. I seem to recall it was bloomin' freezin' on top. Very happy with my time and place (a shade over 1h 30m, 86th) = beginner's luck? Got to meet IainR and Pinno (at last!).

Oh, and I wish they'd sort out some rules for 'rights of way'. Masses of walkers and spectators out, an accident/argument just waiting to happen...

In the car on the way back it was a sorry site what with the cuts, blood and having to stop at every services for a certain member of the gang....

Sorry to learn of the tragedy on the hill. I did see a runner down with MR erecting a tent around him and administering first aid. Hope he got off the mountain as well. Does anyone know if the fatality was a runner on the way up or down?

    Very sad news

BBC news report suggests he was on his way to the summit.
