'er indoors has to ice her knee every night.
The 2 year old packet of peas is beginning to complain.
What other products are available? Does anyone use anything else?

We still have the same packet of frozen peas from an emergency dash to the Co-op for a sprained ankle in Wales in 2004.
I have one of those frozen gel things that you're supposed to wrap around a wine bottle to chill it quickly.
Wrap a tea towel around it and apply it to the injury - seems to do a pretty good job, and you're never tempted to eat the contents.
I use something similar to Geoff - it's one of those ice block things to go in a freezer bag - just wrap a t-towel round it elevate my leg and stick it on!
You can get gel things that go in the freezer or like I tell most of my patients go and buy a new smartprice bad of peas you'll never eat them and they are only 30ish p a bag as opposed to a few quid for a gel pack one.
I have a sore shin, which I'm going to ice with a chilled bottle of white wine tonight. Applied internally.
I've been using Polar Powder Cold Packs to stop my chocolate knees from melting. I find they mould to the joint better and stay cooler for longer than the gel packs. I got them from one of the online physio supplies stores They come in two sizes. The small will do a knee. The larger size for thighs/hamstrings etc.
Having said that.. bags of peas are probably just as good and you don't have to leave your seat if you get peckish!
