A wet 74 mile social ride with 11 others at 16av following a convoluted route out to the coast. It took 10 miles to agree on a destination and even that changed as we were further out. Wet & not all that warm as the afternoon progressed.

Im guessing you have lifted the hoods a bit higher wheeze.
Has this made it more comfy to ride ????. It usually does.

Sometimes if im going on a very hilly ride I will alter the bars so that they are rocked back a tad. You see the pros do this sometimes on mountain stages.
Dont start messing with your derailleir settings. Normally either loosen or tighten the cable a tad. look from behind at the cog and make sure its dead in line with each sprocket as it changes. So using your bike stand

get the missus to change the gears whilst you look from behind at the derailleur moving across and either tighten or loosen the cable to align exactly with the sprockets. This will usually solve da problem.
Ive never had to alter the screws on the shifter etc. Normally by then its new cable time.

Think if i remeber right wheeze

When your adjusting the cable barrel behind the derauleur.

If its throwing the chain and missing a gear and going to far ( ie skipping a cog ( turn it anticlockwsie)

if its not throwing the chain far enough and struggling to engage onto the next cog ( turn it clockwise)

    Hope that helps

If that does neither it means you have been fiddling and thinking your a pro bike mechanic. If so take it down the bike shop.
thats how most of there buisness comes about
