You'll love it, DT. It's far more runnable than the Long Tour Of Bradwell. Times for the two are coming out similar for some, and that's comparing 32 miles with 40 miles.

The Full Yorkshireman will be perfect prep then DT!
So good I entered it twice. I'm only running it once though, if that: I went off on an over-optimistic schedule last year, & was trashed by Castleton. This year my main aim is to burn off Britnick (assuming you're going to be there Nick). Actually my main aim is to finish.
A very good day out, with perhaps just a bit too much road. Who can run the fastest from Mam Tor down into Castleton with all their teeth intact?
Where are the details for this one? Ta.
www.highpeak40.co.uk but it appears to be down at the moment.
Poacher turned game-keeper
Splatcher, that would be a yes from me, and burning me off may be easier than you think. I didn't call myself ultraploddernick for nothing.![]()
Do I sense a frisson of competition? Does this mean I need to get some proper training in? Oh bum.
I feel an entry to the Chatsworth Challenge coming on as a warm-up.
This all feels very one-sided though. You seem to know who I am but do I know who you are? (I'd probably be none the wiser if I knew your real name, so no need to blow your cover.)
Wait a minute. It's coming to me. You're the one who gave me some useful pointers for the WPW route finding, yes? You'll hammer me on the HP40, by about an hour, I would wager. I don't need to bother training now. Aahh, relax.
Correct. Not serious competition though - I'm only racing myself really, & I've no intention of ever getting into a sprint finish. It's just that we were about matched last year, then you were beating me earlier this year, so I thought I'd better lose a few pounds & get a bit more running in before the WPW - No. 2 on my favourites list. I ran a blinder on the WPW though, & I'm not expecting to match that again this year. Mind you, I have got to keep fit for another few weeks: the Across Wales Walk is on 5 September & I've got a target of 9h59m for that. Then I can blob out.
And I'll only get an hour ahead of you on the HP40 if you run it in diving boots.
