I think your right on the hilliest bits, certainly the steepest are on that stretch.

I'm in full agreement on the run back from Milldale, it's a long long way on tired legs and I was crying out for a hill. Until the hill actually came and I wondered why I'd wished for it...

I should be obvious as I'll be in either pink or lurid green pony colours.
right, that's it, I'm off work til next Tuesday now!
packing car and going to see if we can find a campsite in the White Peak that isn't waterlogged!
I should be in horrific-green pony vest, so also easy to spot

Lucky Daz I'll be doing my prep on Saturday, probably make use of my new colour scanner/printer thing so I can draw a line on copies and not end up with more maps with lines all over for the various events over the north I've done! Seems like a good idea or one day I'll go miles off course following the wrong route around peaks/moors/dales

Liking the sound of the good footpaths/trails. The Last LDWA event I did was Moors the Merrier, it was a cracker but hard going in places and sometimes no distinguishable path. It was a reminder after easier navigable Osmotherley Phoenix and Wharfdale marathon that these things vary a lot.

See you Sunday - even get a slight lay in

I was thinking about it but found something dafter to do instead. I did another one organised by the same LDWA group last December - the Regular Irregular from Brockholes near Holmfirth. That was three different loops from the start point & I was the only runner as far as I know. Anyway I left everyone at the start - I think they were all walkers apart from 2 or 3 run/walk types. Friendly organisers, & the wettest run underfoot I've ever done. It was up to my knees in many places & it took 2 hours for the feeling to come back to my toes afterwards. I'm planning on doing it again this year

Thanks Splatcher, I know its a pretty muddy part of the world, not that far away, north of the M62 in Calderdale area (been in over my knee's a few times). So I'll also prepare myself for some mud here too, new running territory for me.

Looks like I could be joining you on this for a leisurely lollop across the moors. The weather forecast's looking a bit grim to be up on Great Shunner & the Howgill ridge tomorrow, so I've postponed my Over the Hill attempt to next weekend.

Yes, three of us are coming up to do the LDWA double - Marsden on Saturday and Belper Rugby Rover on Sunday. Last long weekend before tapering for the Eagle Isle Ultra in three weeks time.
