Just for future bumps of this thread - there was a cutoff of 1:30hrs at Checkpoint 3.

Shouldn't be a problem for most of you, but I don't think I'd have made it even in better conditions.

Just so i know i'm not taking the credit for someone elses honesty, are you the bloke who didn't want to waste the bit of twix?

I was using you as a pace setter for quite some time, i prefer to run that way, but i stopped to fix myself some grog at CP4 and that was the last i saw of you.

Yeah that was me, but it was a bit of Boost! No worries using me as a pace setter mate, you had a white t-shirt and black bottoms on right. Enjoyed the course, tough but satisfying

Disgusting to think that a fell runner would pinch it. Me and Scott just left all our stuff on the field at Burnsall without second thought. Il be a lot more careful now

You misunderstand, wasn't nicked at fell race!

Brilliant race! Love running in the Howgills. Some truly reckless descending as it is just soft grass to fall on if it goes wrong! Weather was perfect for running.

Managed to take off 40 minutes on my 2007 time so happy with that!

If that wasn't enough ABD and myself went and did the gofar.org.uk 31 1500" tops the next day and added on a near 30 miles and 10,000ft (route 25 miles and 9500ft but had to get to the starting point). Descending into a shuffle early on but we finished in a reasonable state considering.

Adding to that I get back home to find the Rab mountain marathon is going to be held in the Howgills! Couldn't have had a better training weekend

Fab race, first AL, took it a tad too easy in the first half (but that was deliberate; will know I can go faster next time), although one chap went past me like lightening just after Chapel Beck going up to Castley Knotts but caught him up going up to the Calf.

Took the wrong trod round Calder (it was actually Bram Rigg Top) which resulted in adding an extra few ks onto the distance (the scree traverses were an unwelcome addition); sorry Ashley (Dark Peak, but weren't they all!) for leading you astray!

Bit gutted to have not broken 3hrs by 25s, but know that would have been sub 3h if we hadnt gone sightseeing, Merry you must have been just behind me as I was 47th (in a red and white T, not a club one, with Skins shorts and Inov8 bum bag).

Many thanks for a great race and much respect to the marshalls, the chap at CP3 needs a medal.
