I was forbidden from harvesting tonight, Missus said they were too small. Damn growth rate has slowed up .

But Beastly Boris, the baby tortoise, has been tucking into a chunk of roast pheasant carcase (he dragged it under the woodburner). All is not lost and the Moley Mayhem continues

That is gutting Moley... Suppose you have to be prepared for the slowing down of the growth rate, as autumn seems to be aproaching rapidly

Tiny courgettes are nice though, fried whole, crispy batter with parmesan on the outside, nice and soft and sweet on the inside... with some new potatoes and a grilled camembert...

Just found the following which I thought was worth sharing..

Salubrious greetings back OBW, you did not miss a classic week of courgette growth but I blame that on the weather (and Gordon Brown).

    Today: 1 picked
    6 eaten .
There should be an improved harvest tomorrow, they are still coming well, but growing much slower.

Humph, who would be a courgette farmer in these trying times .

    • favorable to health of mind or body; "not the most salubrious campsite"; "one of the less salubrious suburbs"
