    Re: Round Rotherham 50

I don't know about staying clean/running efficiency. When I've been watched doing track intervals before I've been told I have a good natural looking style, and don't seem to be putting that much effort in (though I feel like I'm about to die...). I was certainly very muddy by the end of Rotherham, and I'd comfortably stayed on my feet throughout. I feel quite at home on slippery mud, south Nottinghamshire/north Leicestershire where I do most of my running has plenty. Compared to the people I usually run with, I'm better on mud than road, but I'm one of the dirtiest by the finish.

I've not noticed the top runners in world cross country champs and similar magically avoiding getting seriously muddy...

Giving it a miss this year, I've conveniently booked to go to Barcelona that weekend.

Besides, October? It's gone all soft.

I totally agree it's gone all soft! But I'll be there. Going to recce it again this year though. Did the first year (well the second half), but decided last year I didn't need to cos I knew where I was going. Ooops bad mistake! I had what you called value for money! Looking forward to the ploughed fields (oh no, trying to forget about them!)

Only in a relay team (I'm on leg 3) - no reccied it yet - so no idea what it's like?!?

Anybody having a run around might (or might not) be interested to know that there is a Doug Scott lecture at Rotherham College that evening.
