What about the markers you are advised to start at based on your estimated finish time..........................??????? Sounds to me like there may be an awful lot of people expecting to do a sub 3:30.

Not necessarily at the front, but find a wheel that is going at a pace you can just about stick with and sit on it... don't worry about doing your turn.
hanging with that sort of speed on fat tyres and twiddly gears is beyond me too..
trouble is everyone seems to be going full throttle on the road to get position
I saw a video, on U tube, of last years race and it takes the bunch about 5 mins to pass the stationary observer positioned at the first offroad section ( so about 5 miles in) , from fastest at front, to the ones taking it sensibly at the rear...
in the grand scheme of things that's not alot in a race that lasts anywhere from 3 hrs to inexcess of 5 hrs...

I just thought i'd mention, as it was a suprise to me as a 3P'S numpty last year, nowt to worry about though, as for most it's a thrilling if tough few hours of fun....mostly![]()

Looks like the start of a roadrace, so I shall be at the front if I can as it is easier to be overtaken than to have to overtake.... Only thing is, the roadraces I have done never had more than 120 people in them! It is going to be a bit more crowded on Sunday![]()
