Did Bazza's route once on race day, lost a few places and leg strength . Not done it since.

Just been for a plod over Blackhill. Very muddy and tussocky on the way down and just where did that new bog come from? waist deep!! Shocking

the stile that Plumbum and I built last year to take you over the first fence after Soldiers Lump is now gone but so is the fence so thats ok . Must admit it threw me for a minute cos I knew I was on the right line.

saw a few muclaw/walsh tracks so recceing has started.

A good point RH, that road section spoils an otherwise great race and it is very dangerous.
Why not have the CP at the small lay-by on the A57/Upper North Grain junction, cross the road to pick up path in the woods by Lady Clough, cross the Ashop and rejoin original path. Make the road out of bounds.

Any decision on moving the CP Ian DP?

If you didn't want to move the CP that far (and remove the option of going direct to the Birchen Clough car park) you could always put it just after the current checkpoint in the Woodlands Valley at the footbridge just S of the Snake Inn. But Yiannis's suggestion sounds great to me.
