I just watched the weather forecast for the weekend. My heart sank as I heard the unfolding story of torrential rain and winds strong enough for structural damage! It's not that I'm doing the event this year, it's my anticipation of the BBC and other media getting back on last years hobby horse of irresponsible organisers and overstretched mountain rescue teams.

www.metoffice.gov.uk for Builth Wells is looking ok. Hopefully the rain will have fizzled out by the time we start at 11.00am.Those on the early start will be in for a dousing though

Setting off shortly ~ just waithing for my lift off Langdale Legs.
Unfortunately this year's OMM will clash with another large event in the same area, which is likely to cause unnecessary problems for all taking part.
With a few notable exceptions, those competing in this alternative event will be characterised by failing to understand the nature of their event despite repeated briefings, and question and answer sessions.
The collective noun for this group is a gullible of journalists.
Met Office now has Saturday looking fine but windy but Metcheck shows heavy rain all day!

Eeather looks bright as best you can tell looking out of the barn door on the webcam. Finishers not looking too bad.
