I did turn up to the Manx XC League about 5 years ago! We were there in Douglas on holiday and I'd e-mailed the organiser to see if guest runners could take part. We rocked up at a golf club on the south side of the island, our cab was booked to come back two hours later. but no one there knew about it. The race had been moved back to Douglas but there was no way we could get there on time. I've been late for races but never been at the wrong place before

Our beacon club might have been Salford historically .....(certainly not your bunch of South Manchester shandy drinkers.)
But gone are the days when our best are poached.......If we can keep them all fit, I think there's going to be a lot of people surprised at how many Rochdale vests will be featuring up at the front end of the field come the championships.
