    Re: Great Whernside

I think the year before it was the championship race the course was shortened as it was snowy and icy. i think we turned at hag dyke. but as i was there we could just say no we were all really fit back then!

what was the weather like yesterday. it was pretty rainy where i was further north -

    and well done wharfedale ladies!

JBP is correct. Due to weather in 2006 I made the decision to shorten the course to the cairn above Hag Dyke. As it happened by the time the race got underway conditions were quite good but thats sods law it was too late to change the route....and 2007 it was a counter in the English and British Championships.

Yesterdays results have gone to Brett for FRA website.

Warm, about 15-16 degrees with a tail wind going up. Overcast though with gray cloud but dry.

In short PERFECT for the race.

My first time at this race - it was fab! I'll definitely be wanting to do it again, another one for the list of races which me and Mr Jules take in turns for the child care!
Thanks to the organisers and marshals.

Well the best is enemy of the good but the race is a pure classic fell race.

But Pete did conceive and organise the equally good Buckden Pike race for a couple of decades so he does know how to pick 'em.
