Not run with the Alpkit light yet, but used it to get down Dore Head screes in the Lakes last weekend as part of my night navigation task for ML training. Ended up using low beam most of the time, and there was plenty of power there. Green light is also very handy as it keeps the night vision OK without loosing the contours on the map like you do with a red beam.

Used the Alpkit tonight on the lanes, it was pretty powerful and it was fine on low beam. Not bad for 13 quid!

went out for a run tonight,pitch black,with a 3 pound wind up hand held toch from asda,had to keep winding as i was running,got a bit of a scare as two black beasts appeared up ahead,once i got closer it was just 2 cows,should of gone to specksavers.

I was lucky enough to get one of the Silva Alpha Six head lamps to trial/review and it kicks the botty of the Petzl Ultra.... even good enough for night-time mountain biking.
