Agreed tN. It's knackerin' job up is all this pre-enterin' 6 months before th'event. There's too big a percentage of pre-entries that don't turn up on the day. They get all excited now but when the time comes to run they're full of poxy excuses like "the dog's got diarrhoea so I 'ad to tek it t'vets".

It probably is a discussion that's run 'n run...but that's 'bout th'only thing that does get to run on the day!

I know that some of you think i am crazy enquiring so early about these races but it just makes me feel better. I get stressed if i don't get myself organised and that can lead me to have a bit of a Bipolar episode. However what i would really like to ask is how hard are Wasdale and Ennerdale ?. Yes i have read the stats and facts and what classification they are but to hear it from people who have done it that would always be better. Say give it a 1 to 10 rating of which 10 been the hardest race you have done. Any other hints you wish to give from your experience of doing the races would be very happily received.

You do triathlons? For me, Wasdale Horseshoe is harder than Helvellyn Triathlon. For me, Ennerdale Horseshoe is tougher than Wensleydale Triathlon.

I certainly do and thanks for your help. My first love and the thing i have done most is running of the road and trail kind. I tried a fell race or two and loved them. I have ditched the Triathlon as it was always becoming a whose got the biggest **** contest and frankly i don't want that and i found the fell community friendly and laid back.

how much harder ?

my main running aim is wasdale nxt yr.... i did all the Lakes mountainous tri's this year, but imagined wasdale to be a much tougher prospect, and though you clearly know your stuff, i'm suprised to see them mentioned together ?
