A sobering tale of Borrowdale and 3 Shires.....

    Spying a runner ahead
Whippet followed where ever he led
    Got lost in the cloud
    Now he's never too proud
To get the map out instead.

I know that Mossdog the athlete
Is never found dragging his feet
    He trains chasing cattle
I just know one day that’ll
End up in a frantic retreat

Old Whippet, I’d heard folks admire
Knew lots of shortcuts on 3 Shires
    So I followed the chap
    And finished in Shap
So he had no clue it transpires

    HHH you are indeed lucky
To have followed a runner so plucky
    For very next day
    So I've heard say
    He ended up in Kentucky

Bugger all decent rhymes with Kendal I can tell you!
There's a town near the Lakes that's Kendal,
To where good fell-runners will tend: all.
    The home of Pete Bland's,
    Who has all the plans
To equip all those runners so mental.
