    Re: Fell Ponies??

Met four fell ponies whilst we were out on the clag in Kentmere on Saturday. I was surprised at how stocky they were, and how hairy their legs seemed to be. However, they seemed friendly enough, but probably only because they were interested in the vague possibility we were going to give them some food. They also had quite hairy noses, apparently this is normal.

Appearances can be deceptive where Fell Ponies are concerned.

I can vouch for the hairy nose trait

It is a shame that the mens squad has fallen apart though. On the fells a few lads have defected to Esk Valley, I am thinking of finishing the winter series as a Fellpony

Why not, I even have a spare black vest should you want to borrow it!!!

Loftus like H,pool have had great success on XC but we struggle to get a full squad out these days, last year was our worst in the 25years I have ran for the club. No such problems with Fell ponies just do your own thing if it suits.
Will be at Clay bank on Sunday with a bit of luck.
