Cheers mate. The positives are that if i do leg 1 you know what time you are starting and are not stood round in the pissing rain waiting for the previous leg runners to come in and you have the rest of the day to spectate. If i do leg 6 i get a bit of a lie in and get to actually finish the race.

Just a thought...

Here's an essential Calderdale relay tip...

Here's just a little tip from my experience of hearing others' tales of woa over the years !!
I know we have quite a few newcomers on here who may be new to this linear relay lark... although it could happen to any of us.

When you go to the END of the leg you intend to recci (with both cars) and drop one vehicle off with everyone's dry kit and shoes/ towels in, the driver of the leg-end vehicle should PUT THE CAR KEY ROUND HIS NECK ON A BOOTLACE (or similar) after locking it up!

So many, many times i've heard of the leg-end car driver putting that key into his jacket pocket or bag or whatever, and only after having been driven to the leg-start, setting off with everyone and running the 8 or 10 miles or whatever the leg is, and getting to the car at the end, before exclaiming "Oh no!, I appear to have left the k eys in the other car at the start" (moderated version!)

Hope this saves someone for a VERY long day recciing. Have a good recci and relay run everyone,

But you are on the shortest leg 3 Tom with Darren le Talbot. Most folk run that leg and then jog back reverse route, (shouting encouragement to those still competing!! )

Leg 1 for me. Does anyone know if the start is at North Dean Woods or Clay House Park? There is conflicting information depending where you look. If its been moved to North Dean Woods does that mean the 1st leg is a bit shorter than advertised?
