    Re: Today's poet

a lovely nourishing run this morning through the dene....

    moving reverie

you' re not here and i
    ill at ease
    reach for my trainers
    and make for the woods

the soft underbelly of the forest
    cradles my feet
    your presence in the sun,
    the trees, the stream
    carries my steps
    c(l)on(o)jur(v)ing(e)

    the silent, moving lullaby.
    O peaceful reverie
    in this moment
    i know
    contentment.

let me knowyour honest view on the presentation, does it add or detract? appreciate your views one and all....

My honest opinion is that I think it is beautifully written and I like the presentation - the brackets thing a la cummins works well. Maybe change your to you're in first line? Just putting editor hat on.

I think a lot of us gain those feelings from running...definitely sooths my anxious mind and I've known times when the person I've loved has been present whilst running even though physically absent. Used to visualise them at the end of a race to make me run faster! You and Old Whippet have produced two brilliant poems that reflect the many moods on this thread.

Is it that there is only a finite amount of niceness to go round, and the too-specific gravity of this thread has drawn it all to itself?

Or maybe it's just that the negativity creates the niceness in itself; the crabbiness in other threads creates a balancing sweetness here.
What has really delighted me with this thread is that is has created a wonderfully positive place for people to have a go expressing their feelings, whatever they maybe. Whether having a go at writing, or taking the time to find a relevant poem for someone else. To be part of something which has allowed people to be so open has been very special. And that has only come from everyone's encouraging posts. Even choosing a poem can be nerve wracking, let alone writing something new. It has been great to see first-timers giving it a shot, and being surprised by their own creativity. Personally, I've been given the motivation by you lot to write a bit which I've absolutely loved doing. It has been a great opportunity to express myself creatively, which is something that tends to get put to one side too much with life's other priotities. It has also been great to meet some new lovely people. Fellrunning poetry fans. They are the ones for me.
