You'll notice from this that I took the reservoir path round the lower Ogden reservoir rather than the road. Thinking being it was more level, and softer underfoot. By this stage my balls (of my feet) were really sore, so I thought I'd be quicker. Not too sure how this worked out as I could see a couple of heads bobbing above the wall gradually getting ahead of me (managed to claw a couple of these back once I rejoined the road for the last 200m or so), but I know I was level with the ninja when I snuck off, and ended up a min or so ahead of him at the end.
Word on the elevation: Garmin is notorious for overstating it. SportTracks has it at 4,269ft. Make of that what you will. And why no Garmin in a race? You get a lovely picture at the end of where you've been!![]()
