Preston Harriers Great Hill Handicap race today.
7.4 miles with no idea how much climb.

Really muddy all the way and i really enjoyed it.
Didnt kill myself too hard so not to end up throwing up halfway round with my dodgy stomach problem and ended up just under 2 minutes slower than last year - but the ground was frozen then compared to sloppy mud this year, so i'll let myself off.

First time ive run in a month and by george it was good to get out and to get muddy again.
I noticed how much my body was taking a beating at times though, my ankles where shot to piece with the rough terrain. Its all this not running lark - it aint good for you.

Nice run out up Penyghent and then across to Ingleborough via Ribblehead and back to Horton.

I just wanted to see snow hehe, and there was some!

    I reckon about 19miles.

    Thanks mate.

Well its sort of getting better! Still can't descend at any speed, and there is still sensation there, but I can run at an acceptable pace, just can't put the hammer down yet.

Nevertheless, I'm just going to continue running at that pace for a while, rack up some miles, and put racing on the shelf for a while. Distance is my current goal.

    You not running today?

Ah I see, hope you have a good race! Make sure you take mince pies, I had one just before the descent off Ingleborough, perfect for keeping my head on and myself upright to the end hehe.
