Seemed hell of a lot busier than last year
We got there at 9.30 - top car park was nearly full, but the bottom car parks were clear.

we got there about 9:30 and just squeezed in the top car park. there was one miserable local in his car at the bottom of the hill giving the marshalls a real hard time about the parking. he needs to get a life, its once a year

theres always something funny or quite embarrasing happen every year when you watch the runners when marshalling. I was marshalling on leg 3/4 crossover and a couple of moments made me chuckle. One pair started hurtling down the track to the end at the start but instead of going 'obv' for the stile on the left went down the road for about 50 metres before realising, not a good start lads . Also one lad just as he entrered the first field on leg 4 fell flat on his face, got up and then stumbled over again. I had to give the lad credit though he made it to the next stile and out of sight with no further mistakes, great stuff. Just makes you feel everyone is human afterall and its having a laugh that counts on this event.

    isnt it funny,
i was on leg 2 and started walking through the stables,
ALL the horses stuck there heads out of the stables,
i could swear they were laughing.
could it be at my attempt to race walk(how do they do that)

Apparently Gerard and Amanda's amazing 32min leg 4 run came about when Gerard picked up an injury shortly after the start and got a lift in someones car to the finish....

I saw this too and was chuckling quietly to myself. I wasn't quite so chuffed when I got to Blackshaw Head to find there was only one runner to hand over to. The other one did appear, but not for another 3 or 4 mins.

Cheers and thanks to all involved for a great event; if they could make it a bit closer to my home on the south coast it would be even better.
