    Save Mother Earth.

There on the sand i sit motionless,
Velvet shawl of eternity pin pricked by the stars,
I let the entire world flow over me,
Sounds heard by the first of my kind,
The turquoise waters of my birth encapsulate me,
Countless ages to reach this point,
I lie on the beach i become one again with the sea,
Feel your mother surround and flow over you,
If only it was so simple to give mother earth a second chance.

    Death.

Why fear death when he has held your hand all your life,
He has helped you when needed and carried your sorrows,
Death is your only constant friend always shouldering your strife,
Other people think he's trying to speed up time and end your tommorows,
This is simply not true as he knows you will always meet in the end,
His thoughts for you are pure and he will keep you from harm,
Deaths consistent care is the only truth he will always be your friend,
When he comes calling know that cares and let him warp you in his arms.

    Corporations and responsibilities.

What have you done to make the world a better place ?.,
How did you run your human race,
Did you think it's not my problem i'll leave it for those who come after,
You should hang your head in shame driven mad by there laughter,
Look at the pollution and disease you have spread,
See the figures that just beacuse of you are dead,
You have got to change your ways if you want the world to survive,
Hang your head in shame and keep the planet alive,
You are a persion of great power weild it for good,
And make sure all children have a clean neighbourhood.

Ice and snow slowly fade to classic Dales scenery
Newly expectant Swaledales graze freshly re-born grass
A cormorant passes over an ice-free but bitterly cold reservoir
And I drive home as Mr Drake sings about the River Man

    Ayup all,
I hope you are all enjoying Christmas.

I'm still here OW. I was just computerless for a bit, but after insisting to the Comet staff that YES all I want is a laptop and NO I don't want any software, and NO I don't want an extra guarentee, and NO I don't want a bag, so PLEASE just get me it and let me give you my money, I finally got one!

So I've got a lot of catching up to do.

    Crunch above with slush below.
    Running (slogging) in the snow.
    Ankles sore from rasping ice,
But even so, it's rather nice.
To make some tracks across the frost,
Then come on back to cheese on tost!

See! Look what happens when I take 2 days off! I've lost my edge!

Hes....this travelogue is just great to read. Haikus painting rich pictures for us back home. It'd be good to see all of them, and DT's recent Chinese offerings collated in one place.
And DT - like the kids, I groan too when the thaw arives.

And what of Harry? avalanches in the Howgills swept our once most prolific of laureates away?

That's lovely Freckle. You've still got the knack.

    Clown in the Moon

My tears are like the quiet drift
    Of petals from some magic rose;
And all my grief flows from the rift
    Of unremembered skies and snows.

I think, that if I touched the earth,
    It would crumble;
It is so sad and beautiful,
    So tremulously like a dream.

My goodness Hes, that is a lovely poem with some great images. A great find.
