it's official. local news has said it is the heaviest fall of Snow for over 35 years
14 inches in the garden which would equate to around 16-17 inches. might clear a spot and see what happens over night. TV were broadcasting from where Kingsnail lives.
Waited till half past three then got the skis out again. Was immediately followed by two boys saying "cor mister are them skis can we watch you skiing"
Promptly fell over much to everybody's amusement. Still I'm sticking with it while the snow lasts. Haven't run a step since Eskdale Eureka but I'm permantly whacked with all the x-c skiing.
Keep it coming. Reminds me of '63 when the only downside was the rugby league fixtures being cancelled just after I'd been picked for the team.
Might be a good opportunity to spread the good news about snow tyres, i think i'm the only person in Yorkshire who knows about them:

I seroiusly don't think motoring organisations do enough to publicise their existance and accessibility, they're too busy trying to keep you indoors. Just get some steel wheels that are compatible with your car from a scrappy, fit the tyres and leave them in the shed until you need them. Not trying to be too preachy here but we're going to see more and more of these freak cold snaps because the climate is destabilising.
SChool shut tomorrow!!! Apparently it is more to do with the problems of ice on the roads and a lack of grit in calderdale. Mainroads were okay in Halifax but siddal and exley were lethal and ungritted, just what you need..
Can't say I'm upset by the decision.
