    Re: Moel Eilio 16th May

It's a lovely race and pretty easy to follow. The race essentially visits four tops: Moel Eilio, Foel Gron, Foel Goch and Moel Cynghorion, in that order. The start to Moel Eilio is normally well marked/marshaled and the route between the tops is as you would expect from examination of the map. From Moel Cynghorion you head NW, descending steeply, towards Grid reference SH 578 572. Once on the bridleway, the route to the end is obvious.
Kit requirements are as usual for an AM.

I'm going to have to learn to type faster. People are always getting the jump on me!
I didn't know about the charity event Iain. Sounds good for the family.

One of the best races in the country...certainly one of the most beautiful. Loads to do for the family in Llanberis...boating, puff-puff up Snowdon, slate museum, sheep-bothering etc etc etc.
    Don't cogitate, just do it!

    Moel Eilio

This race is an absolute cracker. Has everything, very runnable with little rock. I am slightly perplexed, since it was a British counter in 2008 and has all of a sudden disappeared off the race calendar.

Anyone know if this is still running as I was thinking of returning to Wales for this one.

I'd keep an eye on http://www.wfra.org.uk/ and http://eryriharriers.blogspot.com/

Our friends from the west are sometimes not the most forthcoming about events. Though they organise some absolutely cracking races. I can totally recommend some cross border interloping, the races are a joy. Though I will brush up on my welsh for 'park over there' next time I'm back at the northern end of their range.

    Pob lwc!

It was pretty grim in 2003 as well. Loved the race apart from the long run in to the finish by the Youth Hostel
