    Re: Today's Training

Not sure how far we went today, from sheffield up to Burbage edge via porter clough and ox stones. Snow was mostly mid calf to knee deep but was over waist in places, and has drifted up to the top of 20 foot crack on Burbage! Descent down the edge was interesting - ended up missing my usual direct route as there was a sizeable cornice on the top!

Road down was a minimum of 8" deep too.... legs are now completely shot, and my head's not too clever either (mostly because I'm stupid and forgot to eat breakfast before running).

Outstanding, wild feeling morning out though!

13 miles on the local hill, from one end to the other and back. Hard going all the way, not to mention dodging snow boarders, sledgers and walkers. Very pretty but very tough.

    11.95/2398' lane run.
Not a road run as roads are generally ploughed and gritted. Plenty of snow and ice. Not as cold as previous days, especially out of the wind.

My blog thingy is certainly giving me some encouragement to get out the door. Enjoying my running at the moment.

Turns out that our "run" today was 9 miles, 1700' climb and took just under 2 1/2 hours (of which 50 minutes are given as "stopped" by SportTracks). I think it would take about half that in the summer!

anybody done any training across cold edge road? its great sight with drifts across most of the route! Managed to complete my run across Oveden Moors just before it got dark which I was well relieved at. Never felt as concerned running b4 but going through deep snow for miles when the dark is coming in got the heartrate going

Usual jaunt round the local hills just now.

Still looking like Tony Montana's office desk out there!

Short one tonight - 2 miles in the local woods/fields. Longest run for my dog's recovery from a bad leg, no sign of limping from the mutt so I'm happy...

Tried taking the insoles out of my narrow pair of RX terrains (I was going to get rid of them, as they were too tight) and they feel superb.
