I dunno, show these people some good route choices and what do they do ?
Well done all - I got my miles in putting out and checking the junior courses, 100 took part which looks great for the future. A little confusion/delay getting the junior results compiled (sorry), but we've learned for next year.

Thanks Chris. All your tips paid off, especially the ascent of Robinson and the approach to Cat Bells.
Pity I took the longer route to High Spy. Mr 1470 and I were distracted by a runner wearing New Balance fell shoes. The front half of the bottom of his shoe was flapping about alarmingly. Looked as though it would come off any minute. I commented it must have been sole destroying for him.

So I thought.....more than 4000ft of ascent. Certainly felt like it at times as well!!

Well put Huwski. Great to see you again and nice to put some other names to faces. Look forward to meeting up for a few recce runs over the next few months.

Had a nice recovery run today ..... 13 miles and 5500ft! Was planning to take it nice and easy...until I was caught up by and then ran for 1.5 hours with a very fast runner from Mercia Was absolutely finished by the last climb.....but really interesting to talk to someone who'd done a 20 hour Bob Graham and who runs ultra ultra races.

That'll teach him to get some Walshes like a proper fellrunner

Wouldn't have fancied that last quick descent off Cat Bells with the sole flapping around like that!!

I can't believe some of you ran again today. I'm thinking next Wednesday may be a good time to start again, my legs are complaining bitterly today.

    Re: Anniversary Waltz

What a nice day. And what nice people. And what nice beer(s) with NOUH both nights.

Pissed down continuously today with nil visibility and v windy, so I did Borrowdale-lite. Or I can't Believe It's Not Borrowdale.

This comprises Bessyboot - get lost - get cold - bail out upwards - Glaramara - The Coombe (whoops) - coffee at the Yew Tree - walk up Honister Pass - piss about on Grey Knotts - back to Honister - up Dale Head again - piss about trying to sort the alwaysinjured descent in 30m visibilty - do a Wendy - go back up again - give up - swear through the quarries - have a terse moment with the bus driver who doesn't like wet return tickets.

Full waterproofs all day, thought I'd never be warm aagin. Nice though.
