Randy Lerner seems to be different to other foreign owners, going for local hospice sponsership of shirts seems a decent non-profit move. He seems to have backed Martin O'Neill and kept out of the limelight / spotlight / media. Isn't that what you want from an owner.

I think fellboy can shed more light on Lerner but to an outsider he seems pretty decent.

Have to agree with this. I'm not a fan of any billionaire coming in and taking over a club but if you had to choose one, it would be Randy if only for hit name!

I agree. If I were to win the 50 billion pound lottery, I'd like to run my Premiership football team in the way he seems to be. Quiet, consistent backing for a quality manager.

It must be easier knowing you have an intelligent hardworking manager who understands the game of football. Some chairmen simply haven't got a clue when employing managers. Roy Keane! Bryan Robson!?

Harsh on Keane, turning Ipswich around and didn't do badly with Sunderland. Turned them around in a rapid time.

It's funny how perceptions can differ so much. Personally, I wouldn't trust him to coach the reserves.

When we both win the billionaire lottery, you can have him to manage your team.

Did a reasonable job with Sunderland. Got them promoted but then left them struggling last season.

He's certainly turned Ipswich around (for the worse anyway). Finished 9th last season. Under his stewardship this season they are currently 20th.

He started badly, rock bottom, but he's turning them around. 1 loss in 12 or so, looking a decent team now. I think they'll get the play offs.

His first season at Sunderland was very good, money or not he got the likes of nosworthy, edwards playing out of their skin. Second season he kept them up, but then they started to struggle. Not unusual, Burley did the same at Ipswich, Brown at Hull. I think that's why Coyle jumped ship. Burnley's form was increasngly poor. If they get relegated it'll now be blamed on Laws.
