    The Hebden 23rd January

A report on current weather conditions can be found on the event website at www.alangreenwood.biz/index.html The short route underfoot is passable and we are looking at possible diversions to avoid the impassable snowdrifts on the latter part of the long route. A further bulletin will be issued in 7 days time.

Looks like you might have a lot of people on the short route then?! Do hope it goes ahead - we'll respect what ever decision you make. Nightmare time!

I'd much prefer any alternative to the canal route back (other than the road of course). Some hills please!

Would prefer diversions to the longer route rather than doing the short one if at all possible. But appreciate it's very difficult for you at short notice.

How about using MOUNTAIN MAN's Calder Valley Round finish instead? I'd imagine that'll be reasonably drift-free (apart from the short section in the gully maybe). We'd still do the bit over the shoulder of Stoodley Pike to CP4, but then head back to Mytholmroyd, shortening the run to about 15 miles.

Thanks for all your efforts, Alan. We'll be grateful for whatever you are able to put on for us. If it goes ahead in some form it will be the first one this year that won't have been postponed as far as I'm concerned.

Hi Nick. Well you should have gone for the Reservoir Roundabout II instead of the Tandem, as I suggested

Looks positive for the Hebden though - I'm looking forward to it, whatever the state of the ground.

parked up at start/finish today and ran on the road to Callis Bridge to do second half.Ice on Stodley and a few big snowdrifts but nothing to bad.......flags coming off the moor and through woods were appreciated.
Surprised how tough the route was...harder than the Yorkshireman and took us 4 hours to do 18ish miles......loads of tracks I've not done before and enjoyed the run.

Recce'd this a few weeks back, and the route is a corker. Sorry to miss it but one of our best club races now clashes as it was postponed from December due to snow causing problems getting to the start.

    Enjoy folks

Hi Alan. Any update on ground conditions?

Hopefully things are significantly better than they were this time last week.
