First run of 2010 - A cracker of a run across the fields round me, 12.5 miles.

Knackered now - I'll tell ya this for free theres some serious water-logging (thats a word?) at the moment....knee deep in places! Was refreshingly cold to say the least.

I like the word so let's vote to keep it. It is odd running in such a variety of terrain/ conditions all on one run isn't it?

Did 6 ascents of Win Hill from Yorkshire Bridge. Tough going in ever worsening conditions underfoot. By rep 5 the ground was sodden with that terrible icy snow getting more and more water logged. Started doing 29 min reps up and down and by number 6 was struggling to do 38 mins for fear of falling over.

85 mins on and around Chevin and Danefield - snow, slush, ice, mud, torrential streams etc. Being a bit over-cautious even by my standards on a couple of descents.

Thats some big hill reping but....
Steve did that for his BG training. It must be Mindnumbing. go do a half dozen, similar climbing but over mixed terrain.

Well done for the effort though

a slow Ten round the villages. Had a codger in a 4x4 leave it to the very last second before swerving to avoid me on a pathless lane. Yet another example of why training on roads sucks.

yeah i would save yorkshire bridge reps for week evening heaadtorch run - and mix it up over the weekend - one downside of that way up win hill is its actually quite "steppy" - ie although its steep you can generally put your foot on a horizontal surface (go round the corner and bash your way up twitchhill side etc if you can't currently get to edale area due to roads/snow) for a steep, grassy slope, calf work out (a la skiddaw) - or do win-lose-win for a bit of variety.

actually with t he slush at the moment its prob like trying to walk up rollers!

Stuck to the road again today to actually get some running in, so did a steady 11 round the lanes, 1000ft climb in the first 5 miles and then enjoying a similar descent. Hopefully the fells will be runnable soon.
