It's only 16 quid - get it on the credit card, pay next month, cheaper than regretting it later

Or you can have my number when I bottle out

The PPP is organised by a committee, not an individual, and as FRA Chairman I have raised the various issues relating to this "levy" with senior members of the PPP committee. I am confident that they will be discussed at their next meeting on 3rd February.

Well I just made a big mistake, for some reason I thought it was the end of March, and just realised its April, and I will have started training by then, so now waiting to give a reserve my entry lol.

    Re: Three Peaks 2010.

I ran my first Three Peaks race last year having started fell running a few months beforehand and have signed up for the 2010 race too. I've always been a bit puzzled by its official classification though, so I'm wearing my pedantic hat today and thought I'd ask...

The FRA list the Three Peaks as category AL 24m/4500ft, which gives a ratio of just 187.5 ft/mile. Isn't this well under the standard grading for an "A" category race of 250 ft/mile, so shouldn't it really be a BL course?

Personally I reckon the route is more like 23.3m/5275ft, but even these figures only give a ratio of 226 ft/mile.

Hope someone can shed some light!

    Re: Three Peaks 2010.

There are a number of races that fall into this 'category', Edale Skyline being another at 214ft / mile. Both in my opinion deserve an 'A' rating as they can be serious undertakings. Perhaps the ft / mile formula breaks down a little for long races but I'm sure there will be those who disagree.
